Hyderabad, March 4: After the Congress decision to use A.R. Rahman’s Jai Ho for poll publicity, the Opposition parties have started bringing out audio CDs to match the “publicity warfare” of the ruling party.
The Praja Rajyam has decided to use the tune of popular Tollywood music director, Mr Manisharma. The Yuva Rajyam president, Mr Pavan Kalyan, on Wednesday released an audio CD with songs composed by Manisharma to be used in the PR’s poll campaign.
While lyricist Mr Anant Sriram has penned nine songs in this CD, one was composed by noted lyricist Mr Veturi Sundara Ramamurthy who wrote some of Chiranjeevi’s hit numbers.
Upcoming actor and Chiranjeevi’s son, Mr Ramacharan Teja, has sung a song in this CD seeking people’s support.
Renowned singer, Mr S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, also sang a song in the CD. Tunes of all songs simply replicate the super hit tunes of Chiranjeevi’s box-office hits like Indrasena Reddy and Tagore only to attract the masses, especially the youth. “All these songs were produced in true filmi style to woo voters quickly,” Mr Anant Sriram said.
Meanwhile, the TD had also released its poll campaign audio CD under the title, Jayam Manade (Victory is ours) recently in which songs were composed targeting the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, and his family members. Film actors and TD leaders Mr Murali Mohan and Mr AVS looked after the production of these CDs.
The TD has produced some songs in coastal Andhra dialect and some other in Telangana dialect. Some songs were also composed by partially adapting hit tunes in NTR’s flicks.
