Hyderabad, March 8: Delimitation and fear of losing in the present constituencies has led some leaders to seek new and safer seats.
However, they are facing stiff resistance from native leaders, who are aspiring for a ticket. For instance, in the Telugu Desam, the party politburo member, Mr E. Dayakar Rao, has decided to contest from the Palakurthi Assembly constituency as his native constituency, Wardhannapet, has been reserved for the SCs.
However, Mr Sudhakar Rao, another TD leader, wants the Palakurthi ticket as he was native of that seat.
Meanwhile, the TRS is now trying to shift T. Padma Rao, former MLA from Secunderabad Assembly, to Sanathnagar seat as part of seat-sharing agreement with the TD. However, this proposal has drawn flak from the TRS and TD leaders.
Even Praja Rajyam is also facing problems. The party is planning to field K. Kala Venkata Rao from Etcherla seat, since Vunukuru seat, which he represented, disappeared after the delimitation. But, party leader, G. Haribabu Naidu, is against the proposal as he demanded the seat for himself.
