Parties lure techies

March 18: Nearly 50,000 software professionals hold the key to the political fortunes of candidates in Serilingampally constituency.
Serilingampally, considered to be a hi-tech constituency, is home to a large number of software professionals and their family members.
The constituency includes Chandanagar, Miyapur, Madapur, part of Kukatpally, Nizampet and Hitec City.
Political parties are now luring the sizeable chunk of IT professionals out of the 3.65 lakh voters.
The Greater Hyderabad Telugu Desam president, Mr K. Vijayarama Rao, said: “Serilingampally shot into limelight with the establishment of Hitec City during the TD regime. Voters, particularly IT professionals, will support the Telugu Desam,” Mr Rao added.
The Praja Rajyam is hoping to garner the support of settlers and the techies. The PR Ranga Reddy district joint convenor, Mr Miriyala China Raghava Rao, said: “The PR is very strong in the constituency since techies and other people want a change in their lives.”
