Hyderabad/Nizamabad
March 26: A group of Telugu Desam activists led by a senior leader, Mr Teegala Krishna Reddy, staged a semi-nude protest in front of the house of the party president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, demanding allotment of Maheshwaram ticket to a party nominee.
“It is the TD which is strong in the area and not the TRS,” said one of the protesters.
Rebels have started creating havoc in both the TD and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti as soon as the parties reached an agreement on seat sharing. Angry TD activists ransacked the Nizamabad unit office of the party in protest against the allotment of the Nizamabad urban Assembly seat to the TRS.
The activists damaged the furniture and so raised the slogans against Mr Naidu.
Several TD leaders of Nizamabad have already joined the Congress and the Praja Rajyam parties angry at the seat allotment.
Another group of party activists from Uppal and other constituencies also staged a dharna before Mr Naidu’s house, shouting slogans against the TRS.
The TD politburo member, Mr Yerrannaidu, was gheraoed by a group of protestors and had a tough time assuring them that justice would be done to them.
“Some sacrifices are inevitable in an alliance,” said Mr Yerrannaidu.
