Campaign at exam centres

March 15: Political parties have started focusing on examination centres to carry out their election campaign. They view it as an ideal place to reach out to a targeted section of voters.

Activists of different political parties are distributing pamphlets and other publicity material near exam centres highlighting the welfare policies they will undertake for students if they are voted to power.

The campaign is aimed at parents and guardians who anxiously wait outside the centres to pick up their wards.

Over 16 lakh students are writing the Intermediate public exams in 2,204 centres across the state. Though the Intermediate students are not enrolled as voters, their parents and relatives who accompany them are the target of the political parties.

The activists of Telugu Nadu Students Federation, the youth wing of the TD, are distributing pamphlets near exam centres highlighting the “vision” of TD government when Mr Naidu was in power. It sought the support of parents for TD to ensure bright future for their children.
