Politicians queue outside temples

Hyderabad

March 24: With the polls fast approaching, politicians have started frequenting temples like Chilkuru Balaji, Birla Mandir, Yadagirigutta, Pedamma Talli temple at Jubilee Hills and Aremysamma temple at Bandlaguda.
The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, appears to be the most faithful of all politicians. He will kickstart his campaign at Chevella on Wednesday seeking the blessing of Chilkuru Balaji, who is also known as ‘Visa Venkateswara Swami.’
Before going to Chilkuru, Dr Reddy will visit Bangaru Mysamma temple at Nampally.
He will also seek blessings at the Nampally dargah. Dr Reddy will also visit Aremysyamma temple in Bandlaguda and the
Methodist Church at Moinabad.
“Dr Reddy visits all places of worship before taking up any important programme. He was successful when he launched his historic padayatra in 2003 after visiting Chilkuru Balaji, Aremysyamma and other temples. As part of a tradition, we will accompany the Chief Minister to these temples on Wednesday,” said Gidugu Rudra Raju, APCC general secretary.
Senior BJP leader, Mr Baddam Bal Reddy, who is contesting from the Chevella Lok Sabha seat, filed his nomination at Chevella RDO office after a darshan of Aremysamma.
