Hyderabad, March 10: A reality check of the political waters through surveys by bosses of various parties scouring for right candidates and independent assessments by ticket aspirants are making the job of decision-makers tough.
It is learnt that in LB Nagar, the Congress aspirant, Mr D. Sudheer Reddy, had carried out eight surveys to prove that he is the right candidate for that segment. The Malakpet MLA, Mr M. Ranga Reddy, who is now looking for LB Nagar and Ibrahimpatnam Assembly seats, has also conducted three surveys.
Same is the case with the Telugu Desam aspirants in LB Nagar, Mr Krishna Prasad and Mr V. Prakash Goud, who are banking on self-sponsored surveys to convince the party leadership.
Sources said, in Kukatpally, Mr V. Narsinga Rao and G. Vengala Rao, aspiring for the Congress ticket undertook their own surveys.
In the same seat, Mr K. Venkatesh Goud, an aspirant in the Praja Rajyam, also relied on his own survey.
Mr Mekala Sarangapani, an aspirant for Secunderabad in the Praja Rajyam, has so far conducted three surveys undertaken by three different organisations.
“I have been in politics for the past two decades. To prove my eligibility to get the party ticket I gathered feedback from people,” he said.
Another leader from the PR, Mr Feroz Khan, who is seeking the Nampally seat, has sought the help of MBA students for accuracy in survey results. Aspirants in the newly-carved constituencies and established leaders in existing segments are taking the help of surveys to support their claim for the party ticket.
For instance, Mr. E. Haribabu, ticket aspirant for Ongole Assembly segment. and the TD MLC, Mr Revant Reddy, who is angling for Kodangal segment, are banking on the survey results to prove their candidatures.
While most of the candidates conducted these surveys discreetly they are not ready to admit that they undertook these surveys for party ticket.
