Parties celebrate Ugadi

Hyderabad, March 27: Ugadi celebrations at the NTR Trust Bhavan were marred by Jr NTR’s injury in a mishap.

The Telugu Desam chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, did not attend the function, which was low key. Party senior leader Mr Yerrannaidu and other second-rung leaders attended it.

At the function, Pandit Srinivasa Gargeya said, coalition politics might dominate the state’s political scenario.

TRS leaders also celebrated the function without much fanfare as the Telangana Bhavan was busy with brisk political activity.

The PR chief, Chiranjeevi, celebrated Ugadi in East Godavari district. No function was organised in the party headquarters.

Mr.K.Suryanarayana Siddanthi rendered Panchanga Sravanam at BJP office and predicted that the state would get bountiful rains.

Meanwhile, astrologers who read the Panchanga at the Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion, predicted that the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, will return to power.

Mr Mulugu Ramalingeswara Vara Prasada Siddanthi, who rendered the Panchanga Sravanam, foresaw a Congress sweep.

“Planets favour Dr Reddy and he will be the chief minister of the state again,” said Mr Siddanthi said.
