Hyderabad, March 6: With the Election Commission banning murky advertisements in TV channels, political parties are planning to use movies to continue their personal attacks on rivals.
For instance, Mesthri, a movie produced by the former Union minister and Tollywood director, Mr Dasari Narayana Rao, takes pot shots at Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam.
The film will hit the theatres on March 12 and Mr Narayana Rao, who dons the lead role, will ridicule the familydom in Praja Rajyam.
“There are some scenes in the film which point out the ills in the present political system,” said Mr Suresh Krishna, director of the film.
Meanwhile, the Praja Rajyam camp managers are bringing out Raajaavaari Chepala Cheruvu to lampoon the government. Noted writer and director, Mr Posani Krishnamurali, is producing this film.
Another film Ooriko Tagore, to be presented by the Praja Rajyam women’s wing head, Ms Shobha Rani, will also urge people to vote for change. Jagapati Babu is the hero of the film. When asked about the theme, he said, “It says that every common man can become the Chief Minister with hard work.”
Apart from this, Nene Mukhyamantrini Ayite’ (If I were the CM) is also being shot with a political message.
