Disillusioned docs quit PR

Despite working in Praja Rajyam even before its official inception, Dr Chakradari and Dr. Neelakanteshwara Goud were denied tickets from Nirmal and Mancherial respectively.
“We have started practice just now after a long gap of nearly eight months,” said Dr Goud. “Politics was a totally different world.”
Dr Chakradari, a pediatrician from Nirmal and Dr. Goud, an ENT specialist from Mancherial were both running nursing homes. Both were involved in social service for long time and felt that politics was the next logical step.
While Dr Goud was serving the poor by conducting free medical camps under the banner of the Charvaka trust, Dr Chakradari associated with Janavignana Vedika and organised hundreds of free medical camps in the tribal areas.
Dr Goud was a government doctor and resigned his job though he had a 13 years service left and joined Praja Rajyam.
“I now regret doing that since it is difficult for people like us to survive in politics,” said Mr Goud.
They were both holding state level positions in Praja Rajyam but lost out when it came to jostling for ticket.
