AP’s First phase of elections

Hyderabad, April 15:

22 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana and North Andhra along with 154 Assembly segments which fall under the jurisdiction of these Lok Sabha constituencies will go for polls on April 16.

* Polling starts at 7 am and ends by 4 pm.

* Electors can lodge complaints on toll free number 1100. The election cell with 44 lines will continuously monitor elections.

* Voters in GHMC limits can obtain information about location of the polling station by logging into www.ceoandhra.nic.in and www.pollingbooth.in.

* The election authorities will issue voter slips, a job which was till now done by political parties. Assistance booths will be set up in the premises of polling station and slips containing the voter number and booth will be issued to voters.

* Electors shall first enter their name in the register following which a mark will be put with indelible ink on the left index finger. The voter shall have to proceed towards the voting compartment.

* The voters shall press the button gently and a beep sound will confirm that the vote has been cast.

* Two EVMs will be used if the number of contesting candidates is more than 16

* If the identity of voters is to be challenged by agents of political parties, the latter should pay Rs 2 to the presiding officer. Action will be initiated against voters if they were proved impersonators.

Police toll free number 1090 can be accessed throughout the state except Cyberabad where complaints shall be registered on 23000389 or 9490617461. The number 23232363 will function at the election cell of the DGP office. GHMC control room: 155304 (toll free) 23226982

Information can also be obtained through SMS on 56677. Voters shall type CEO voter ID or House no and send to 56677.
