‘PR tickets sold like film tickets’

Anantapur, April 15: Actor couple Dr Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha said that Andhra Pradesh will become a rowdy state if the Praja Rajyam is voted to power.

They alleged that PR had sold out its MP and MLA tickets to aspirants just like cinema tickets.

They were participating in a road show organised by the Congress at Hindupur on Wednesday.

Dr Rajasekhar said the PR chief Chiranjeevi had earned crores of rupees in his 30-year-career but never did anything for other cine workers.

Dr Rajasekhar said Chiranjeevi’s fans had tried to assault him in Hyderabad for saying that Chiranjeevi is a poor politician.

He alleged that the assault on him by the PR chief’s fans was done at his bidding.

“If PR is voted to power, the state will become a rowdy state,” he said.

He pointed out that after the inception of the PR, not many people from the cine industry joined the party, which clearly shows how unpopular it is.

He exuded confidence that the Congress, which had launched many welfare programmes for the people, would retain power.

He joked that actor Junior NTR did not slap his thighs during his roadshows when he realised that his uncle and actor Balaiah’s thighs had the Congress symbol of palm imprinted due to his continuous slaps.

Dr Rajasekhar said he hoped that Junior NTR would also learn of Mr Naidu’s backstabbing tactics and added that the actor would definitely tell the people in the future that he was betrayed by the Telugu Desam president.
