Hyderabad, April 17: Candidates who sweated it out in the scorching sun for the first phase of polls are planning to take a break along with their families and relax for a while.
Several contestants from the Telangana region, particularly those belonging to the Telugu Desam, Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the Praja Rajyam, are planning to visit Kulu Manali and other hill stations.
Some others are heading for Shirdi, Tirupati and Srisailam to seek the blessings of the Almighty for a resounding victory.
“I am going to Anantapur for second phase campaign and later, I will go on a holiday with my family for a week,” said Mr Teegala Krishna Reddy, the TD candidate from Maheshwaram constituency.
The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, is also planning to go on a holiday with his family after April 23. The dates of his trip and the destination have not been finalised.
Actress-politician Jayasudha of the Congress is flying to Singapore along with her son for a couple of days, and Mr T. Devender Goud of Praja Rajyam plans to visit Tirupati.
Another Praja Rajyam candidate, Mr Dasoju Sravan Kumar, who was contesting from Secunderabad constituency, is going to Shirdi and so is Mr E. Rajender of the TRS, who is in the fray from Kamalapur segment in Karimnagar district.
“I will keep in touch with voters of my constituency even from Shirdi,” said Mr Rajender.
The TD MLA, Mr G. Sayanna, who contested from Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly segment, would be praying at Tirupati, Shirdi and Srisailam, for a fourth consecutive term in the House.
