Chiru explains soft stand

Nellore, April 18: The Praja Rajyam chief, Chiranjeevi, said he intensified his tirade on the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, to counter the hype being created by the latter to confuse the public about Mahakutami’s edge in the first phase of elections.

Chiranjeevi was responding to a query on Saturday at a press meet in Nellore regarding his “softened” stand against the Congress.
“The TD and Congress are two sides of a coin. While Mr Naidu opened doors for corruption, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy has further widened the scope for it,” he said.
When asked which party would the PR ally with in case of a hung Assembly, Chiranjeevi said such a situation will not arise as there is a silent revolution in the offing favouring the PR. “It is a fight between the corrupt and the honest, and the youth and women in the state are behind me,” he said.
“I am sure that PR will get a good number of seats in both Telangana and North Andhra.”
Taking a dig at the Chief Minister on his sudden shift on the Telangana issue, Chiranjeevi said he would not change his stand on the issue because he is in Andhra now.
He said the interests of the people concerned should be considered.
