Poor turnout at CM’s home

KADAPA, April 2: The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, drew one of his smallest crowds at his customary public meeting at hometown Pulivendula after filing his nomination papers on Thursday.

Barely about 7,000 people attended the meeting, where the Congress organisers we-re expecting about 30,000 people.
Right from 1978, Dr Reddy has conducted a public meeting at the CSI church grounds at Puliven-dula after filing his nomination papers.
Over 15, 000 people usually attend the meetings.
The Congress cadre had got food cooked for more than 30,000 people, with the turnout being low, a good quantity of the food was wasted even after Congress workers distributed it among the homeless.
It is learnt that differences in the local leadership resulted in the poor turnout. Sources said that they did not mobilise crowds for the meeting.
