Hyderabad, April 14: Candidates raced against time to cover the last nooks and corners of their constituencies before the campaigning for the first phase of polls (April 16) came to an end at 4 pm on Tuesday.
Even as curtains came down on campaigning, contestants held meetings with the “galli” leaders of their parties and re-worked strategies to bring the electorate to the polling booths on April 16.
Sources said, cash and liquor to be distributed among the voters, was stashed with the near ones of galli leaders. The commitments by the candidates to galli leaders, have been fulfilled and now it was up to the galli leaders to ensure that the “wine and wealth” reached the dwellers.
