Dial ‘100’ for police station

Hyderabad, Dec. 10: The police control room number “100” will soon become a unified number for the police in the state. The caller has to dial 100 and the person will be connected to the local police station. The difficulties in finding the jurisdictions of a police station while travelling on highways prompted the senior police officials to take this decision.

Even the twin police commissionerates, Hyderabad and Cyberabad are also facing similar problems with “100”. For instance, if somebody in Cyberabad limits calls up 100, they are connected to the Hyderabad police control room. The police personnel who receives the call has to explain the caller that they will have to call Cyberabad police. “Unified number will end such problems,” said the Hyderabad police commissioner, Mr Prasada Rao.
