Naidu: Phones tapped

Hyderabad Nov. 6: The Telugu Desam chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday alleged that phones of the party top brass were being tapped by the government. “Our phones are being tapped by the government. Even my phone is being overheard. We are ready to prove it. Let the government speak,” the TD chief said. The Praja Rajyam had earlier made the same allegation.

According to Mr Naidu, the Intelligence wing had tapped the phone calls of the Mr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, close aide of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, in order to demonstrate their abilities. After learning about this, Mr Naidu alleged, Mr Rao had appreciated the officials for their workmanship. Mr Naidu was briefing mediapersons at NTR Bhavan on the turnout at the party’s Yuva Garjana in Guntur on Wednesday.
