raja Rajyam activists are grumbling at being sidelined

BY J.R.PRASAD

Hyderabad, Oct. 1: Die-hard fans of Chiranjeevi in Praja Rajyam are sore at the appointment of ‘political leaders’ as district coordinators to supervise the launch of the enrollment drive and inauguration of party offices on October 2.
Though the term of these party posts is just for a day, Praja Rajyam activists are grumbling at being sidelined.

The party leadership on Tuesday appointed coordinators to ensure smooth functioning of various programmes including the planting of one crore saplings across the state on October 2. In Warangal district, Mr E.Pradeep Rao, brother of the TD leader, Mr E. Dayakar Rao, was appointed co-ordinator. The district leader of the Chiranjeevi Fans Association, Mr Karate Prabhakar, who did the groundwork for the party in the area, is resentful of this.

Similarly, the appointment of Mr Kamineni Srinivas, who joined the party from the TD, as coordinator in Guntur has created resentment among local leaders. “We have been working for Chiranjeevi from the beginning of his career and he is now treating us as second class citizens,” said a leader of the Chiranjeevi fans association in the district. Meanwhile, the Rayalaseema political couple, Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Mrs Shobha Nagi Reddy, was reportedly unhappy as they were not considered for the posts. They were also angry at the appointment of Mr Jyotula Nehru as the coordinator of the Kurnool district. Fearing resentment from party workers, the leadership had appointed the coordinators in a clandestine manner.
