Hyderabad, Oct. 27: The Praja Rajyam, which set out to clean up politics, is now wrestling with the spectre of internal bickering at the grassroots level. It has become evident that megastar Chiranjeevi’s outfit is not immune from troubles that haunt other parties. In almost in every district, fans of Chiranjeevi and politicians who joined Praja Rajyam have been at daggers drawn since the launch of the party.
On Sunday, Chiranjeevi’s actor brother, Mr Nagendra Babu, had to remain a mute spectator to the unruly scenes enacted by party workers at Piduguralla in Guntur district. Alleging that there was no justice in Praja Rajyam, some local leaders of the party created ruckus in front of Mr Nagendra Babu.
Even though the party leadership is trying to sort out these differences by sending Mr Nagendra Babu to various districts, the bickering has not stopped. The situation is becoming worse by the day. The recent fracas among Praja Rajyam leaders Ch. Ramakotaiah, M. Vijaya Nirmala, B. Phanibabu and leader of Chiranjeevi fans, B. Vasu, in Nuziveedu of Krishna district was another instance of this. It may be recalled here that some die-hard fans of Chiranjeevi in Tadepalligudem have been suspended from the Chiranjeevi Yuvata for their alleged violation of party discipline.
The leadership resorted to this step to end the fight between irate fans of Chiranjeevi and leaders who joined the party. Even though the party leadership gave strong warning in the form of a suspension, this has not pacified disgruntled leaders and fans. However, the party spokesperson, Mr Parakala Prabhakar, said there were no problems at the grassroots level. "There are no differences among the leaders of our party at any level," he said. "There is only communication gap, which we are trying to bridge."
Meanwhile, there are apprehensions that the squabbles among Chiranjeevi’s fans and politicians in Warangal and Khammam districts may create troubles during megastar’s Yatra in north Telangana which will begin on October 30.
