Hyderabad, Sept. 5: Even though the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has reportedly made up his mind to take a pro-Telangana stand so as to sail with the Telangana Rastra Samiti in the coming elections, the pink party leadership is thinking otherwise. The TRS president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who earlier decided to have have an alliance with the TD is now reportedly having second thoughts.
Succumbing to pressure from activists in the party, Mr Rao has decided to adopt a “wait and watch” policy over pre-poll alliances until the film actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi makes an official statement on the Telangana issue. According to sources, senior leaders and Telangana intellectuals who are backing the TRS are seriously opposed to the idea of having a pact with the TD. They argue that people of Telangana will not accept this alliance because the TRS and TD are not ideologically compatible.
